Whether it is a small repair project or a full-scale design, remodeling project, this is a program that no homeowner should miss. At one time or another all homes need repair, maintenance or updating. The Remodeling Today program is designed to provide the homeowner with "peace of mind" in making the process of choosing the right remodeling professional for their remodeling or repair project less intimidating and more enjoyable.

NARI of Greater Chicagoland (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) presents this program to homeowners and property owners alike. It is designed to help homeowners learn "where to start" by following basic guidelines when considering a remodeling project for their home and how to choose the best remodeling professional for their needs. The program does this by breaking the process down into three separate building blocks.

Part One of the building block process informs the homeowner of "where to start" in finding and contacting a remodeling professional, including guiding the homeowner through the "initial phone call" stage and "appointment setup" with remodeling professionals. Part Two lends a hand to the homeowner by revealing how to prepare for the appointment and what information from the remodeling professional the homeowner should be looking for during that first appointment. Invaluable contractor and contractor reference checklists are discussed for the homeowner to use in determining basic criteria of the remodeling professional during the appointment.

Finally, Part Three of the program covers the essentials of the remodeling contract. The "nuts and bolts" like payment terms, financing, project scheduling considerations, understanding the contract, initial deposit, progress payments, etc. The Remodeling Today program presenters end with a question and answer session from the homeowners for any of the topics covered during Parts I, II, and III of the program.
